My name is Saga and I am a conference interpreter. I work with Spanish (A), French (B) and English (C). In other words, I interpret from Spanish into French and vice versa, and from English into Spanish.
After taking the Master’s degree in Conference Interpreting at the University of La Laguna (which belongs to the EMCI consortium), I started working as a freelancer for clients such as the Government of the Canary Islands, the Spanish Olympic Committee, Siemens Healthineers, Alain Afflelou, the Trans.Cité Association, the Normandy Chair for Peace, the University of La Laguna and the Amazon Caribbean International Documentary Film Festival.
I also work as a volunteer translator and interpreter for La Via Campesina, Save The Children, Emmaüs Europe and the Jane Goodall Institute.
I hold a PhD in Art History from two prestigious institutions: the Complutense university (Madrid) and the École du Louvre (Paris). Before becoming an interpreter, I earned a bachelor’s degree and a master’s in Art History and Archaeology at the École du Louvre, where I then taught as a lecturer. Currently, while developing my professional career as an interpreter, I pursue my research in my field: Fashion History. No wonder then that I am passionate about culture, art, history and fashion. However, as an interpreter, I do not want to focus exclusively on these fields. In fact, I am convinced that doing research and being able to adapt to a wide range of topics to the point of seeming an expert on them is part of the job of every good interpreter.
